Understanding FIPS 140-3

FIPS 140-3 is a security standard used to evaluate cryptographic modules and the mechanisms used to protect cryptographic operations and sensitive security parameters.

A FIPS 140-3 validation applies to a specifically defined cryptographic module and its security boundary. It does not automatically extend to the complete device or system in which the module is integrated.

For selected Sunell product configurations, the integrated secure element contains a cryptographic module validated under FIPS 140-3 at Overall Level 3.

The validation applies to the cryptographic module, not to the complete Sunell camera, NVR, access control device, or other end product.
